Below are some of our favourite events that are only available over the warm summer days and nights!
There’s really for a movie for everyone! You can take a picnic blanket or if you fancy enjoying the VIP experience you can sit on the moat-side hospitality deck or in your own VIP dome with a glass of fizz, a local brew or special mocktail whilst you enjoy some delicious nibbles!

On Saturday 27th August there’s a day aimed at all the family on Thackeray Drive, with children’s entertainment, donkeys, spiderman, stalls, bungee run, raffle and lots of fun and games! There’ll also be an assault course and bouncy castle.
With free entry from 1pm-5pm, the event will support Macmillan Cancer and Hospice Of The Good Shepherd.
For one evening only in September the club is the venue for a comedy evening featuring comedians Clayton Jones, Allan Finnegan and hosted by Bobby Murdock.
Tickets are just £10pp and can be pre-booked or pay on the door!
The museum tells the story of the Cheshire Soldiers from the 17th Century right
through to the present day.
Follow the exploits of the Regiments of Cheshire and their travels across the world during many great battles. Learn about the wars they fought, experience life in the trenches for a World War One soldier, and immerse yourself in the history of the soldiers.
Open from 11am-4pm on Thursdays through to Sundays, it’s a good way to learn about our county’s history.
The Eaton Hall Gardens Charity Open Days on Grosvenor’s Eaton Estate, Chester, Cheshire, are held on limited occasions each year to raise important funds for local charities.
Tickets are pre-book only – no tickets are available at the gate on the day. The benefiting charities for the 2022 events are Cheshire Young Carers, Cheshire Wildlife Trust and Kidsbank.
Vicars Cross Community Centre is hosting a Downton Abbey cinema night for just £5 a person for the over 50s! There’s even a free hot drink and buffet included.

Sandfield Golf Driving Range is the perfect place to come and perfect your swing. Our 21 bay range is 250 yards in length and with plenty of targets and distance markers to show you how far you are striking the golf ball. No booking required!
There’s also a shop, tuition and a putting green.
There’s many popular places around Chester and the Wirral where you can pay for your little (and not so little ones!) to be entertained for a few hours! Here’s a few of our favourites…
With a drive through, water and sand section, go karts, bouncy pillow and lots more, there’s something for a wide range of ages. You can take your own food and drink although there’s also food available to buy. And of course, it would be rude to visit without enjoying one of their delicious ice creams! Booking is now necessary.

It’s all in the name! A place where the kids can run wild, with treehouses, slippery slopes, wobbly wires, marsh walks, storytellers and so much more! This award-winning venue is in Malpas with free parking and refreshments available to buy or take your own. One definite recommendation is go preparing to get muddy and mucky so wear your wellies!

Much more than a maze! A summertime family attraction on the Wirral based around a giant living maize maze but also has indoor and outdoor play including jumping pillows, splashers, go carts, crazy golf, soft play, laser battles and zip lines – quite frankly, an a-maize-ing day out!
Open from 10am to 6pm with free parking and refreshments available or take your own.

Open 7 days a week the Crocky Trail sits in Waverton just outside Chester. There’s a variety of entertainment for different ages and even the dog can come! For the older ones there’s slides, the terrifying flusher and the spinning disk. You can grab something to eat at Crocky Bites or take a picnic. Parking is free and booking in advance is required. And always wear your scruffs!

You may end up eating more than you take home but strawberry picking at Claremont Farm is a wonderful way to spend a few hours whatever the ages of your tribe. They also host amazing events through the year and have a farm shop and cafe. This August they’re hosting creative writing workshops for children. Parking is free as is entry for 2s and under for the pick your own strawberries. Adults are £4.50 and includes a 1kg punnet of strawberries. No booking necessary and open from 9am – 5pm.
